How to use Peck & Patch
Everything works offline and saves to your device. No account needed.
1. Add your flock
Open the Flock tab and tap + Add bird. Give each bird a name, species, breed, and hatch date. The more birds you add, the more useful the per-hen laying history becomes. Mark a bird “retired” instead of deleting it to keep its history.
2. Log eggs — fast
On the Eggs tab, tap + and − for a quick flock total for the day. If you know who laid, use the per-hen steppers below to attribute eggs to each bird. That attribution is what powers the breeder picks in Pro.
3. Set up garden beds
On the Garden tab, add a bed (name, size, notes), then add plantings to it with plant, transplant, and harvest dates. Each planting shows a stage chip — planted, growing, or harvested.
4. Track the harvest
Use the Harvest tab to log what came in and how you preserved it (canned, frozen, dried). It becomes a running record of your pantry.
5. Stay on top of chores
The Tasks tab holds recurring jobs — clean the coop, refill waterers, deworm the flock, start seeds — each with a repeat (daily through yearly). Anything due shows up in a Today strip on the dashboard; tap Done and a recurring task reschedules itself. Turn on reminders to get an optional device notification when something's due. Tasks are free.
Going further with Pro
The free tier is a whole tracker. Pro (a one-time unlock) adds per-bird laying analytics and breeder picks, breeding notes & lineage with a clutch log, a photo ID gallery for each bird and bed, multiple coops/properties, and CSV export. Your logging is never gated — Pro is depth on top.
Install it for the yard
Tap Install when prompted, or use your browser's “Add to Home Screen.” Once installed, it opens full-screen and works with no signal. Turn on Outdoor mode (the ☀️ button) for high contrast in bright sun.
Back up your data
At the bottom of the app, Back up to file downloads a copy of everything. Restore loads it on any device. Your data is yours — Pro adds CSV and JSON export.
